Our journey started with a simple idea: to create space where everyone would feel welcome. We knew our city was lacking in something very specific. Hurricane Laura had ripped the spirit out of every one of us. Those lucky enough to come home to a standing house were still witnesses to the destruction of our city while in a pandemic. Our city was lacking in spirit and in need of some serious healing. Time healed us, as time does, and we started to rebuild. That is where our plans really started to take root. Creative Roots has been operating out of my home since 2018 but I never dreamed it would grow into a place of its own........

Hi! I'm Emily. I started my journey into herbalism is 2015 and got my herbalist certification in 2018. I have a deep appreciation for all plants but a focus in the special ones that help heal our minds and bodies. I grow most of the herbs I use and what I don't grow is sourced from safe, ethical, and reputable suppliers. I make more than plant creations. I make medicine for the body, mind, and spirit. I pour in positivity and love into every single thing I make. I get to know the plants I use and I enjoy sharing my experiences with those who care to learn! Above all, I am here to heal my community though art, herbs, and good intention. My goal is to help the community learn long forgotten techniques and crafts through our hands on learning experiences. Hello there, I am Shari. My creative lifestyle has been a part of who I am for many years. I love to create and share that with those around me. My colorful palette bleeds into everything I make! I especially enjoy taking something old and ugly and giving it life again! I believe expressing ones self can come in all kinds of shapes and colors.
